At PD Čečejovce, we breed Holstein cattle for commercial milk production. We distribute the milk we produce to large milk processors, and at the same time we produce dairy products in our own dairy, which we sell in our company store and in some chains. We also supply yoghurt to school canteens for primary school pupils.
Cattle breeding for commercial milk production in Slovakia has been declining for a long time due to rising costs of technology and feed mixtures, while the purchase price of milk has remained stagnant.
We are pleased that PD Čečejovce's efforts have been recognised for the second year in a row with an award from Plemenárske služby Slovenskej republiky, š.p. (Breeding Services of the Slovak Republic) as the company with the second highest milk yield in the Ábov region for the predominant Holstein breed.
Working with cattle and processing milk is a demanding process, involving hard work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so this award belongs to all our colleagues in animal and plant production at PD Čečejovce.
